This is a senior leadership role for someone who loves design and people in equal measure. You'll lead the studio, set the direction for display homes and new product, and help decide what homeowners will be choosing in the years ahead.
THE OPPORTUNITY
You'll report to the General Manager of Operations and work closely with the senior leadership team. The studio includes an Interior Design Team Leader, a Technical Lead, Interior Designers, Junior Interior Designers and a Selections Administration Assistant.
The role splits into two parts. You'll lead a capable team, and you'll steer the creative and commercial direction of the product. Both matter, and the right person will enjoy both.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Leading, developing and inspiring the interior design team, including recruitment, performance and leave
- Building a positive studio culture where people can grow and progress
- Creating mood boards, colour schemes and flat lays for display homes and special projects
- Researching and sourcing new and trending products for the studio and display homes
- Reading current trends and anticipating future ones, based on who the clients are and where they're building
- Working with Marketing on renders, collateral and display home content
- Sourcing furniture for display homes
- Representing the business in media and social media interviews
- Attending supplier functions, events and product sessions
- At least five years in a design studio at manager level, within residential new home construction
- A diploma or degree in interior design or a related discipline
- Strong leadership skills, with a genuine interest in developing people
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build lasting relationships
- A strong eye for trends, balanced with commercial awareness
- Excellent organisation and time management
- Experience with Framework and Salesforce is highly regarded
This role suits someone comfortable with the rhythm of residential building. Some weekend work is required, and there will be occasional contact outside standard hours. We'd rather be upfront about that now than surprise you later.
