Our client is a well-established, Australian-owned engineering consultancy known for delivering sustainable, innovative building projects across the country. With a strong national presence and a commitment to design excellence, they have carved out a niche in architecturally complex and environmentally conscious work. Due to continued growth in their Melbourne team, they are now seeking an Associate Structural Engineer .
THE ROLE
- Lead the structural delivery of complex building projects across multiple sectors
- Provide technical oversight across concrete, steel, PT, and timber design
- Act as a key client interface, building and maintaining strong relationships with architects and developers
- Manage and mentor engineers and drafters, fostering team development
- Oversee project financials including resourcing, fees, and programme management
- Contribute to business development, proposals, and strategic growth initiatives
- Ensure high standards across design, documentation, QA, and compliance
- MUST HAVE PERMANENT WORK RIGHTS IN AUSTRALIA
- MUST HAVE LOCAL CONSULTANCY EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- CPEng / NER strongly preferred
- 8–12+ years’ experience within the Australian buildings consultancy space
- Strong technical capability across common design software (ETABS, SpaceGass, RAM, RAPT)
- Proven ability to manage clients, projects, and internal teams
- Commercially aware with an interest in contributing to business growth
- Passion for high-quality, sustainable, and architecturally driven design
- Step into a leadership role within a highly respected consultancy
- Work on architecturally significant, design-led projects
