Structural Engineer

Vivid Recruitment is working with a highly regarded engineering consultancy that has been delivering innovative, practical structural and civil engineering solutions across Australia and beyond for decades. With a strong national presence and growing international footprint, they offer an excellent environment for engineers who want to make their mark across high-profile and technically complex projects.

Their Melbourne office is expanding, and they are now seeking a talented Structural Engineer to join the team and work on a variety of commercial, residential, education, and infrastructure developments.

THE ROLE

You’ll be applying your technical knowledge and problem-solving skills across a range of structural engineering challenges, collaborating closely with senior engineers, architects, and builders. You’ll contribute to the design, documentation, and delivery of medium-to-large-scale building projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop practical and economical engineering solutions to meet client briefs
• Produce structural designs, reports, fee proposals, specifications, and documentation
• Liaise with drafters to translate designs into coordinated documentation
• Coordinate with architects, builders, and services consultants
• Use software including ETABS, SpaceGass, RAM, and RAPT to deliver accurate design models
• Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, quality assurance, and WHS policies
• Actively contribute to team discussions, design reviews, and technical development
• Support senior engineers and work towards greater design independence

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
• Ideally 4–5 years’ experience in a similar consultancy role
• Proficient in ETABS, SpaceGass, RAM, RAPT
• Member of Engineers Australia (or working towards CPEng)
• Intermediate MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Strong analytical thinking and a solutions-focused mindset
• Familiar with local building codes and quality/WHS standards
