Senior Structural Engineer

OUR CLIENT
My client is a well-established, Australian-owned engineering consultancy known for delivering sustainable, innovative building projects across the country. With a strong national presence and a commitment to design excellence, they have carved out a niche in architecturally complex and environmentally conscious work. Due to continued growth in their Sydney team, they are now seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with specialist expertise in mass timber structures .

THE ROLE

• Lead structural design and documentation of projects involving concrete, steel, and a focus on mass timber systems including CLT, glulam, and hybrids;
• Deliver innovative solutions that balance design intent, engineering rigor, and compliance;
• Work collaboratively with architects, builders, and consultants to bring timber projects to life;
• Manage smaller project teams including junior engineers and drafters;
• Contribute to fee proposals, technical reports, and construction-phase support;
• Ensure timely, quality delivery across multiple structural packages;
• Drive compliance with building codes, WHS, and QA standards.

• MUST HAVE PERMANENT WORK RIGHTS IN AUSTRALIA
• MUST HAVE LOCAL CONSULTANCY EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering;
• CPEng/NER status preferred (or on track);
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience with building structures in the Australian market;
• Strong background in mass timber design and delivery (CLT, GLT, hybrid systems);
• Software: ETABS, SpaceGass, RAM, RAPT;
• Highly collaborative with solid stakeholder and client engagement experience;
• Detail-driven, curious, and passionate about sustainable design.
