Civil Drafter / Designer

Vivid Recruitment is partnering with a fast-growing civil and structural engineering consultancy with studios in WA, QLD and the ACT. Known for delivering buildable, sustainable, and cost-effective design solutions across commercial, residential and infrastructure sectors, they are now expanding their Perth civil team and looking for a Civil Drafter/Designer with 3–5 years’ experience.

THE ROLE

We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Civil Drafter/Designer who can confidently deliver detailed design documentation across a range of infrastructure projects.

You’ll work closely with engineers and project managers to develop civil documentation and design packages through all phases — from development approval to construction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce detailed design and documentation for:
  ▪ Earthworks and site grading
  ▪ Roads, footpaths, and car parks
  ▪ Stormwater and drainage systems
  ▪ Sewer and water infrastructure
  ▪ Retaining walls and site services
• Interpret engineering sketches and translate them into accurate, compliant drawings
• Prepare documentation for approvals, tender and construction
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project deadlines are met
• Maintain and update CAD and 12D model files throughout project lifecycles
• Participate in design reviews and implement design changes and mark-ups

• 3–5 years’ civil drafting/design experience within WA (consultancy preferred)
• 12D (basic to intermediate) and strong AutoCAD skills
• Understanding of WA-specific standards, local authority requirements, and Austroads guidelines
• Experience delivering subdivision, private/commercial development, or public infrastructure projects
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines across multiple projects
• Clear communication and great teamwork – someone who works well with engineers and PMs
• Exposure to Civil 3D and/or Revit is desirable but not essential
• Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Civil Engineering Design, Drafting, or equivalent experience
